Waspaloy Scrap – Monico Alloys

Waspaloy scrap is a vital part of the reusable metal industry.  A trademarked alloy of Haynes International, Waspaloy is an age-hardenable, nickel-based superalloy with excellent strength properties through temperatures of roughly 1800 degrees Fahrenheit (980 degrees Celsius).  Other characteristics of Waspaloy scrap include good corrosion resistance in harsh environments, as well as being relatively impervious to oxidation.  Waspaloy scrap can be found in flat and solid mill shapes including Waspaloy sheet, Waspaloy plate, and Waspaloy flat bar.

Waspaloy scrap is recycled from both aerospace and gas turbine components.  Waspaloy scrap is recycled at Monico Alloys from rings and casings, seals, spacers, compressor and rotor discs, shafts and various other engine hardware parts.  Other Waspaloy scrap components that Monico Alloys recycles include airframe assemblies and missile systems.

Today there is a global trade in the buying and selling of high temperature scrap alloys in which Monico Alloys plays an active part.  The forecasts are that the volume for both buyers and sellers will continue to increase.
